What are we not allowed to criticize? What opinions are we not allowed to express? This is a question that highlights our freedom of thought and speech. When I was a child, I wanted to be a boy. But I was a girl and so I grew up to be a woman. I recently learned that I now have a new identity, thanks to the Trans-Gender movement. I am now defined as a cis woman. Huh?
The Morning Star explained it like this:
“Sex” is defined by the biological and physiological characteristics that determine what we mean by men and women, while “gender” is defined by the socially constructed roles, behaviours and attributes society deems appropriate for men and women.
The dictionaries back up this distinction so I guess “sex” is objective (physical) while “gender” is subjective (mental, social). Through this gate, a powerful and influential movement has marched to claim it’s identity. I find it unfortunate that the word “sex” which also means an activity usually performed in bed (but not limited to that location). Now, we will have to deal with confusion as to which use of the word “sex” we are dealing with. I preferred “gender” to identify male or female and “sex” to mean what makes us cum. But who am I to fight the Oxford Living Dictionaries? (I note that these gender-shifters are often referred to as transsexuals which is incorrect according to the above definition.) Nevertheless, the law regards gender as limited to male or female. A transgendered murderer goes to the prison of his or her sex, in other words, what he or
she was born as. The law has recently allowed transgender people to use the restroom of their would-be gender in the United States. The medical profession now recognizes a disorder called gender dysphoria and there are medical associations that deal with it such as World Professional Association for Transgender Health and the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association. In Thomas Harris’ novel, The Silence of the Lambs, a would-be transgender individual was rejected by such organizations as not a true transsexual and was turned down for surgery. So a person’s subjective certainty that they are the other gender isn’t enough. These medical boards have standards that reject violent criminals. Nevertheless, some transsexuals have been known to commit heinous crimes. Case in point, Kryzie King, a tranny, has been convicted of starving, torturing and murdering a four-year-old child.
Not only are conservatives against the idea that men can become women, feminists have problems with it too. Transsexuals are demanding access to all women-only spaces. The women’s movement has historic roots in, let us say, conflict of interest between men and women. Some men are blatantly chauvinistic towards women but others are outwardly supportive of feminist goals and ideals. They disavow male privilege. But women often have a problem with these feminist males. Some of them think they can speak for women, take charge of the movement. I have known some of these men. One of them thought the main point of feminism is that men wouldn’t have to pay for dinner any more. Personally, I prefer the chauvinist variety.
There is a You-Tuber named Onision whom I consider misogynist (which he and his fans will deny although I consider anyone who uses terms like “snail trail,” a nasty little troll). He is weighing in on the topic of transgenderism. He accuses anyone who denies the dogmas of this movement to be “transphobic.” I can understand why people who are anti-gay are called “homophobic.” The implication is that people who hate gays are secretly attracted and scared of finding out they are gay. But why call people “transphobic?” Are we afraid we are secretly transgender? Can people who don’t believe transgenderism is really a “thing,” be afraid of it? In this video, he scolds the women who dare to disagree for being “cis” and therefore privileged.
Some people I know on Facebook have a group called Gender Hammer and believe that transgenderism is really a cult. If so, it is a cult that has incorporated the medical field, much if the gay and lesbian world and much of the press. Now a professor at the University of Toronto is being pressured to call students the pronouns they want regardless of their real sex.
When all is said and done, I’m all about individual choices. People should have the right to do anything they want to their bodies. They also have an absolute right to define themselves as they see fit. But I also have a right to define my reality as I see fit. I don’t think people can change their genders or sex if you prefer that word. They can play at it. They can get surgery to bolster their self-image. But I don’t have to go along with their belief system. It does not seem rational. I don’t believe a man who has been surgically mutilated is a woman. Everyone has DNA which is gender specific. That DNA doesn’t change when someone transitions or receives hormones or surgery.
I don’t think women are obligated to accept these people as sisters and let
them into women’s-only spaces. Bottom line: I don’t agree with their definition of “woman.” To me, one’s “sex” and “gender” are the same thing. Certainly, gender roles have changed and will keep changing. But our gender identities are not that flexible. It disturbs me to see how much power-over is being exerted by the transgender movement. It is mind control and my choice is to remain free. To quote a song by the Pink Section, Jane Blank, “I have my mind.”
